My Philosophy of Education
I believe that each child is a unique individual with the ability and potential to bring something special to the world. I enjoy presenting curriculum that involves the interests of the children and makes learning relevant to life and helps them to become their best selves. I have a vision of a world where people learn to respect, accept, and embrace the differences between us and work together to solve common problems and to be the difference that elevates the plight of human existence.
For me, teaching provides an opportunity for continual learning and growth. When working with students the environment is always a caring, safe, and equitable place in which each child may become enriched and grow. I will allow children to become responsible members of our classroom community. My message is that anything worth having requires much work and if you believe in something, if you want something that gives your life special meaning that you’ve never had before then you’ve got to be willing to do some things that you’ve never done before. New goals are accompanied by new obstacles and require new dedication to ensure our visions are brought to fruition. Being great is not a matter of social status, background, or income bracket. It’s a destiny decision. It’s deciding that beyond all odds, there is still something great in you & about you. It’s about deciding that your destiny is too valuable to waste. Everything you want in life has a cost that is non-refundable. I prepare the youth to pay the price!

Here, there is a special emphasis to educate and expand opportunities of young people in the STEM categories, STEM being, Science – Technology – Engineering – Mathematics. Our inner city and Urban comunity children will quite often respond to the question, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” With the answer of “Basketball Player” or “rapper” or “Football Player”. All great professions in their own right yet these kids need to know that making it into these industries are similar in odds as being struck by lightening. The facts are that everyone whom aspires to become a musical artist is not going to become like or as large as Jay Z. Not everyone who can run fast or has quick hands are going to play in the NFL. They need to know that there are real career options available for them in the development of the very technologies that we are all connected to daily. At the Global Renaissance Change Agent Academy we put special emphasis on technological career training. We want our young participants to begin to know intimately the iOS and Android systems that are dominating the market at this very moment.
